A method of monitoring a process of separation by reverse osmosis membrane including unamembrana reverse osmosis capable of separating a feed stream into at least a first yuna current second stream, wherein said monitoring consists substantially of: providing at least a fluorescent tracer inert; introducing the inert fluorescent tracer in the feed stream; providing at least a fluorometer to detect the fluorescent signal of the inert fluorescent tracer in lacorriente supply and at least one of the first stream and the second stream and using at least a fluorometer for determining an amount of inert fluorescent tracer in the stream de10 and feeding at least one of the first stream and the second stream.
