Summary This paper deals with principles of designing simulation models of agroecological systems based on the use of modern computers. These models permit to perform variance analysis of dynamical behavior of agroecological systems by accountin, different ways of man impact. All the models are divided into three classes: (i) the field fertility model which permits to obtain the prediction for some years forward, (ii) the productivity model which ensures the prediction for one year, (iii) the model of yield formation which permits to solve the problems of operative control with plant canopies. The simulation model of the water regime of a agroecological system is considered in details.
