A Survey on Mastery and Application of Health Education Knowledge among Medical Staff

Objective To survey the mastery and application on health education knowledge among the medical staff in Yiwu city and to analyze the problems about the health education in hospitals.Methods 281 medical staff from 6 hospitals were selected by multistage sampling method and were investigated by using a self-made questionnaire.Results The average awareness of health education knowledge of Grade Ⅲ medical institutions was higher than that of the GradeⅠ medical institutions;the awareness of the doctors was higher than that of the nurses and the technicians.Among the 281 cases,about 99.3% of them thought that health education activities in health care were very important to help the patients,and 53.4% of the respondents communicated with the patients and paid attention to their acceptance in the daily work of medical care.The ratio of health education specialized training of Grade Ⅰ medical institutions was higher than that of GradeⅢ medical institutions.Conclusions The educational background,profession and level of hospital had influence on the mastery and application of health education knowledge.Health education in lower grade hospital was better than that of higher grade hospital..
