Analytical behaviour of line asymmetries in three phase power systems

2017
Three phase unbalanced power systems or asymmetrical lines are analyzed efficiently with the help of symmetrical component transformation. Balanced power system does not require symmetrical transformation. This transformation is highly helpful for pre and post power flow analysis in the power system. Due to inductive effect of transmission lines and reactive loads, there always exists a mutual coupling between transmission lines resulting in asymmetries. Such asymmetries also affect the symmetrical components. This effect gives rise to a concept of voltage imbalance emission. In this research paper, analysis is carried out for voltage imbalanced emission for symmetrical component circuit. Matlab / Simulink will be used to carry out the simulations.
