External Dacryocystorhinostomy 2 (DCR)

Epiphora due to insufficient drainage can be due to a partial or complete nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Proper diagnosis and surgical intervention can allow for improvement and/or resolution of excessive tearing. Patients should have been evaluated and deemed appropriate for such surgical intervention. Patients should have been educated about the risks and benefits of the procedure, including alternatives.
