Static Var Generator Technology and its Applications

This paper analyzed the principles, the control methods, the features of the three operational patterns, and the merits of SVG technology as well as a brief introduction to the latest applications of SVG technology. Due to the limitations of the SVG technology, meanwhile its control strategies are very complicated; its fabrication cost is comparatively high when used to for the middle and high electricity pressure and big capacities of electricity transmission. But with the wide use of new technologies and new materials, the SVG technology will surely finds its broad applications.
