Studies on Placement of Granular Insecticides Against Sugarcane Scale Insect, Melanaspis Glomerata, Green.

Field experiments were conducted for two years on soil application of disulfoton and aldicarb @ 2 40 kg. a. i./ha at different depths of placement (7.50, 15.00, 22 50 and 30.00 cm.) for the control of sugarcane scale M. glomerata G. Application of both the pesticides at 15.00 cm. depth is indicated to be the best in reducing the pest incidence to a significantly low level as compared to surface application or placement at the other depths and resulted in an improved cane juice with more total solids (Brix %) and higher cane yield.
