Hydrothermal Synthesis of Pure PbTiO3 and Silver doped PbTiO3 Perovskite nanoparticles for enhanced Photocatalytic activity

Abstract Pure and Silver doped PbTiO3 nanoparticles were synthesized by simple hydrothermal method and the prepared particles were annealed at 600°C. The outcomes of characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), Energy Dispersive Spectra (EDS) and UV-Vis spectra exposes that the prepared samples were nanometer in size. The result of various concentrations of silver dopant on the structural & optical property, surface morphology and photo-catalytic activity of PbTiO3 nanoparticles was investigated. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was achieved for Ag doped PbTiO3 due to the fact that Ag dopant effectively reduces the charge carrier recombination. The synthesized photo-catalyst is reusable under cyclic tests.
