Keeping that showroom shine

Certain properties of crosslinked resin networks have been found to be critical to maximise the resistance of automotive clearcoats to damage by carwash machinery. Nanoparticles are most effective in this role if they are modified to migrate to the surface of the coating. However, it appears possible to obtain similar performance without nanoparticles purely by optimising the binder system.
