Analysis of the correlation between professional commitment and learning motivation of nursing undergraduates

Objective To explore the correlation and status quo between professional commitment and learning motivation of nursing undergraduates. Methods This study adopts the nursing professional commitment scale and learning motivation questionnaire to investigate 350 nursing undergraduates for the study of their professional commitment and learning motivation.SPSS17.0 software package was used for data analysis. Results The status quo of nursing undergraduates' professional commitment are as follows: the scores of professional efforts and will, professional involvement, professional and positive evaluation, professional identity were (3.1±0.9), (2.9±0.9), (3.4±0.8) and(3.6±1.0)points.The status quo of learning motivation are as follows : the scores of endogenous motivation of the nursing undergraduates was(51.4±9.6)points and the exogenous motivation score was(54.0±8.9)points.Professional commitment and learning motivation was significantly correlated (r=0.417, P<0.01). Conclusions ①The overall average score of professional commitment of nursing undergraduates was at a medium level.②The overall average score of learning motivation was at a medium level.③The improvement of learning motivation of nursing undergraduate students can help to improve their professional commitment.
