A review of mandibular anesthesia nerve block techniques.

1995
Abstract Anesthesia of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve is a routine dental procedure. However, failure to achieve a satisfactory level of anesthesia occurs often and can be frustrating for patient and practitioner alike. In this review article, the three most familiar mandibular nerve block techniques-the conventional Halsted approach and the Gow-Gates and Akinosi techniques-are presented and the advantages and disadvantages of each discussed.
