MODIFICATIONS OF THE ULTRASTRUCTURE OF PURKINJE CELLS IN ANIMALS EXPOSED TO THE ACTION OF IONIZING RADIATION

BS>Ultrastructural modifications of cerebellar Purkinje' s cells were studied in rats at different times following treatment with iomzing radiations, given in one sitting. A dosage of 1500 rad was found to lead only to neuron modifications. It was concluded that the ultrastructural changes whlch are found right after irradiation may either regress in the following hours or evolve into degenerative aspects. (auth)
