A Brief Discussion of Civilization and Culture

2004
Both civilization and culture are based on and determined by social practice and social development. Civilization is the product of human activities and the indications of the progress of the society. Culture is the important part of human activities, reflected in material and spiritual products and indicating the nature and development of humanity. People create culture; and culture moulds people. The difference between civilization and culture is relative. Both concepts are inherently related in spite of the differences. The roles they play in the development of the society can't be underestimated. The exploration of both civilization and culture has profound historical and current significance.
