Energy retrofits for existing buildings have recently been considered for improving building energy performance with respect to government energy policy in Korea. CAV and FCU systems have mainly used as HVAC systems for most of the existing buildings constructed in the "90s. In addition, EHP systems have also been widely added to the existing buildings due to the capability of individual system control. However, the sequence of operation of AHU, FCU, and EHP systems has not been sufficiently studied under actual operational conditions, in terms of indoor thermal comforts as well as electric peak demand. This study analyzed the indoor temperature characteristic according to the sequence of operation of central AHU systems(CAV and FCU) and EHP systems for a case-study building. As a result, it is identified that the deviation of indoor temperature within the typical floor of the case-study buildings was more than 3℃ due to inadequate operation of AHU, FCU, and EHP systems. Therefore, it is recommended that the sequence of operations of HVAC systems should be considered with indoor thermal comforts as well as building energy conservation.
