2020
The objectives of this study are: a) to know the opinion that the teaching and research staff (PDI) of the Physical Activity and Sports Science degrees (CAFD) gives to the importance of the different academic management figures; b) to know the opinion that the teaching and research staff (PDI) of the Physical Activity and Sports Science degrees (CAFD) has about the academic managers that they have had; and c) through the opinion of the teaching and research staff, to make a profile of the good academic manager in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. The sample consisted of 126 university professors who taught in the degree of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences in the 2013-2014 academic year. The instrument used was the university management section of the "Questionnaire on Quality Criteria of Teaching Personnel and University Researcher in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPDI-CAFD)". The results obtained emphasize the importance of the figure of the Dean, although when valuing the unipersonal figure of management they have had, they value the Vice-Dean above. With respect to personal characteristics most valued in a good manager, the results indicated that the ability to plan and human relationships are the most valued. These results can be a guide both for the choice of managers, taking into account the most important skills that a manager must have, as well as to make a different assessment of each position according to its importance and responsibility.
