Application of position-sensitive semiconductor detectors in a magnetic beta-spectrometer

Abstract The possibility to use continuous position-sensitive semiconductor detectors for a magnetic beta-spectrometer of the π √2 type is shown. The momentum resolution of the spectrometer for the electron energy region of 300–1000 keV is Δp / p = 0.2–0.3%. Monte Carlo calculations of electron multiple scattering in silicon are made and its influence on position resolution is shown.
