Metal organic frameworks-derived Co3O4 hollow dodecahedrons with controllable interiors as outstanding anodes for Li storage

2014
Hollow Co3O4 dodecahedrons with controllable interiors are prepared through direct pyrolysis of Co-based zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-67) rhombic dodecahedrons. The ball-in-dodecahedron Co3O4 demonstrates an extremely high reversible capacity of 1550 mA h g−1 and excellent cycling stability (1335 mA h g−1 after 100 cycles), rendering it to be a promising candidate for practical application in the next generation of high-energy Li-ion batteries.
