Micro-arrays or macro-arrays with multiblock laboratories on chips integrated

2000
The invention relates to "microarrays" or "macro-arrays" multiblock integrating laboratories on chips, used in Analysis and Synthesis Chemical or Biochemical, facilitating the handling of very small volumes of fluids and providing watertight conditions limiting evaporation and contamination. A lab on a chip of the invention is a flat elementary module provided with a plurality of parallel microchannels at their surface which emerge into the thickness and on the edge of one side thereof, so as to form a wafer surladite microwells line deep and narrow "micro-array" or "macro-array" of the invention. The stack of several elementary similar flat modules will create a superposition of lines of "micro-array" or "macro-array". The number of dishes stacked elementary modules will represent the number of lines of said "micro-array" or "macro-array" multiblock, and the number of micro-channels through dish elementary module will represent the number of columns of said "microarray" or "macro-array" multiblock. Reactions or separations of molecules can be performed within micro-mixers and widened portions, connected to the microchannels, and with fixing surfaces of molecules or hosting microlonnes or micro-particles or microspheres. "Micro-arrays" or "macroarrays" multiblock can connect them, so as to form an integrated chain of analysis or chemical or biochemical synthesis of ultra-compact. All reactant feed and discharge ports are located in the thickness and on the edge of said flat elementary modules, which allows parallelism of preparation operations of samples and reagents.
