Tissue coagulation by laser: Development and experimental in-vivo evaluation of a model

This study aimed the development of mathematical model of laser coagulation called HELIOS. Its capability to predict thermal coagulation was evaluated by comparison with calculated and experimental in-vivo results for C02, Argon and CW Nd:YAG laser. The results show that HELIOS allows good prediction of tissue temperature and necrosis depth.
