Pancreatic stents with diclofenac reduce the incidence of post ERCP pancreatitis in patients undergoing molecular screening of pancreatic juice for pancreatic cancer

Younger age, localized disease, curative intent surgery, radiotherapy, more recent year of diagnosis (2002-2008 vs 1988-1994) [but not gender, race, geographic location] were associated with increased survival. Conclusions: Although there has been a decrease in the age-adjusted incidence rate and mortality from PMC in recent years, most patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage, and this tumor has a poor prognosis. Efforts to recognize malignancy in mucinous pancreatic cysts and earlier diagnosis are warranted.
