어린이집 원장이 기대하는 중간관리자의 역할에 대한 탐색

2017
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the study of middle managers of child care center. The research targeted five directors of child care centers located in Seoul. The study period was from January 3rd to 25th, 2017. All directors had in-depth interviews. The data was then collected and analyzed by qualitative research methods. According to the study, the director general of the research team expects to have five roles in middle management. The five roles included: a spokesman for the director and teachers, a moderator between the director and teachers, a good example for teachers, a counselor for teachers, and problem solvers. First, the directors had concerns about the misunderstandings in the child care centers. Therefore, through the middle manager, directors hoped to clearly convey the position of the teachers as well as of the directors. Second, there was also the need for middle managers to mediate between the differing views of the directors and the teachers. Third, since the director had to set an example for teachers, the middle manager was expecting an exemplary role model for the teachers. Fourth, the directors thought counseling was an efficient way to manage effectively, and the middle manager thought fit to be a consultant. Finally, the directors considered the middle managers as suitable managers for the problems and the conflicts that arose in the child care centers, and were expected to be able to deal with the situations in advance.
