Der Einfluss von Schwefel im Erdgas auf die Korrosion in Brennwertkesseln. Diskussion

1999
The natural gas distributed in the Netherlands contains less than 10 mg of sulphur per cubic metre of gas, which can be chiefly attributed to the sulphur-containing odorant tetrahydrothiophene. In general a maximum sulphur concentration of 150 mg/m 3 was permitted until 1994. In order to establish the effect of a sulphur concentration of this kind on the corrosion of materials and structural joints used in condensing appliances, a test set-up was carried out. In this set-up the behaviour of various materials was compared under simulated practical conditions. The result obtained was converted to an estimated life-time of 15 years.
