States in18O at high excitation energy

Deuteron-alpha angular correlations for the14C(6Li, d)18O → α+14Cg.s. reaction have been measured atE(6Li) = 34 MeV and Θ d lab = 10°. The data analysis performed under the hypothesis of a sequential process allows spin and parity assignments for many unknown18O states at high excitation energy. In addition the14C(6Li, d)18O reaction is confirmed to proceed essentially via direct α-particle transfer. A18O negativeparity band, corresponding to the well-known band in20Ne, is suggessed.
