[Levels of total urinary estrogens and C(16)-substituted precursors after oral DHEA-S load]

3 women in their third trimester of pregnancy and suffering from pregnancy complications were administered dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate for 10 consecutive days. Levels of total urinary estrogens and C(16)-substituted precursors were measured subsequently to determine feto-placental exchanges. The positivity of the test was confirmed later by the birth of healthy if small babies.
