The present invention first relates to a Leuchtstoffkompositkeramik that can be used for example for conversion of light within a white LED. The invention further relates to a method for producing a Leuchtstoffkompositkeramik. The Leuchtstoffkompositkeramik invention comprises a polycrystalline ceramic material, in which a plurality of individual particles of a phosphor is introduced. The particles of the phosphor are respectively included in the structure of the ceramic material. According to the invention the ceramic material is formed by a spinel.
