Modelling of logistic network of disaster relief using similarity to electric circuit

Logistics model and plans at disaster are important in disaster relief operations. It is essential to gather the relevant information in developing such models. This study focused on the first step of development of logistics models through the simulated data. Similarity between logistics and electric circuits was considered in the simulation which was used the MATLAB®/Simulink as a platform for such simulation. Simulation results of the centralized network systems showed the typical logistics patterns in the case of disaster relief. Effects on distance to disaster area, speed of truck in distribution, number of people in disaster area and initial storage capabilities in such areas showed expected logistic distribution patterns. Using such similarity is essential in generating vast amount of data in less time for the development of logistics models and through the simulation platform properties can used to include parameters such as delay time in distribution, and so on.
