Baryon Production in High Energy PB-PB Collisions - Recent Results from NA44

1997
Proton and Deuteron transverse mass spectra have been measured by the experiment NA44 at CERN. Preliminary results from 158A· GeV PbPb collisions are presented and compared to 200A· GeV SS and SPb collisions measured in the same experiment. The inverse slope parameter increases with system size and with particle mass providing evidence of flow. Ratios of proton and deuteron rapidity densities are compared for the different systems. In the framework of a coalescence model a radius parameter R can be extracted. R decreases with transverse mass, supporting the hypothesis of radial flow.
