PSYCHOLOGY OF STUDENTS IN DISTANCE (Contributions from the scope of the National Open University of Venezuela) 2

Based on researches made at the National Open University (UNA), this article presents a definition of students in distance education’s psychology, conceived as an epistemological environment focused on the study of the typical phenomena of the individual adaptation process to noin-person university education. As an essential part of its cognitive area, this psychology deals with systems of representation, attitudes, and values of students; student desertion dropouts; interaction; academic fraud in distance education; students’ learning strategies and their emotional reactions face to no-in-person systems. The article exposes, as final considerations, some of the implications of this kind of conceptual construction in theory and praxis of university education with distance modality.
