According to the method, captions of all languages are cached when a audio-video file is played, through removing the storage data in the caching zone with the timestamp of the non-presently-played language caption data smaller than the timestamp of the presently-played audio-video data, the data of the to-be-switched caption data with the timestamp equal to the timestamp of the presently-displayed audio-video data is outputted and displayed, so the content of a data frame of the caption data after switching is in matching with the content of a presently-played data frame, so caption switching is relatively smooth, and a stuttering phenomenon does not occur.
