Composite films of BaTiO3 and PVDF

Abstract BaTiO3+PVDF composite films were prepared with and without DC electric field during the film-forming process. The figure of merit p/e of the films with 10kV/cm field reaches 1.5 × 10−7C/m2K, whereas that of the films without electric field is only 1.2 × 10−8C/m2K. Experiments show that the application of a strong DC field during the film-forming process may rotate the grains so that the c-axes are parallel to the field. The ordered distribution of the grains will enhance the pyroelectricity and improve the aging characteristics of the composite films.
