The penetration resistance (PR) associated with bulk density and water content provides usefulassessments for monitoring soil under different agroecosystems. Models can be appropriatelyaccepted for a more accurate estimation of PR in order to increase agricultural productionin these systems. The PR values that limit crop growth have been postulated in the literature. Inorder to test and indicated a model for the PR quantification, this study monitoring three differentmanagement systems (fallow, pasture and corn) in a rural farm of the city Pelotas, RS, state.The current management presupposes initial principles transition to ecological agriculture.It was concluded that the presented model can be appropriately accepted for the estimation ofPR in soil under agricultural ecosystems that present different bulk densities and water contentaiming at the proximity with the implementation of an environmentally sustainable agriculture.
