Correlation and path analysis in black gram

2015
The sixty five genotypes of urd-bean were studied for correlation and path effects for eleven traits. In that plant height, number of primary per plant, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per cluster, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, 100 seed weight, total dry matter production had significantly positive association with seed yield per plant these nine traits can be used as a selection index for improving seed yield. Path analysis revealed that dry matter production was the principle component responsible for increasing seed yield in black-gram and it showed high positive direct effects on seed yield
