Molecular dynamics modeling of the collision of an aerosol nanosized droplet containing supramolecules with the surface of a solid

2004
The method of isothermal molecular dynamics was used to simulate the collision between an aerosol nanodroplet and. a solid surface. Two type of droplets were considered: a nanodroplet composed of 412 monomers of a simple Lennard-Jones fluid and the same droplet additionally containing three identical model supramolecules composed of a head and four identical tails consisting of six interacting centers. The presence of the supramolecules was demonstrated to stabilize the nanodroplet and prevents it from decomposing during the collision with the solid surface.
