The authors discuss anatomic consideration in posture balance, body image, self-esteem and quality of life, anatomic consideration in abdominoplasty, abdominal wall deformity classifications, the body-contouring operations, abdominoplasty techniques and liposuction, and management of complications. Abdominal-contouring surgery greatly improves functional status of the massive weight loss patient, especially in patients with a higher body mass index at the time of surgery.
