Métodos de monitoreo de la presiÓn intracraneana

2001
The cerebral blood flow is directly determined by systolic blood pressure and inversely proportional by the intracranial pressure (ICP). We know that in front of a critical drop of blood pressure or an important rise in ICP (trauma, hepatic encephalopaty, CNS infections, etc), a severe circulatory brain damage can occur. It becomes necessary at this stage, to measure the ICP with appropriate methods to perform a correct treatment and a better outcome. To obtain that measure, the physician have different methods and sites to do it. These will be detailed in the present review.
