Screening model for selecting virulent strains of Beauveria bassiana

Nineteen strains of Bassiana were tested and showed the biological characteristics^ diversities. Each strain, no matter from same host or different host, might be different in virulence (y), sporulation (xl), half germination times (x2), repid dis- and re-hydration viability (x3), UV radiation viability (x4), bathing viability (x5) at 40 degree C for 24thrs and colony growth curve slope (x6). After path analysis, the insignificant relational indexes, x2, x5, x4 and x6 were rejected with only 3.67% total contribution rates. And the other two factors, x1 and x3 were selected as significant indexes to regress the equation, y+76.7919-9.4937 s1-0.06122 x2, which could be used to evaluate the virulence of B. bassiana strains rapidly and effectively.
