14009 - Controle Biológico Conservativo: Diversidade de Himenópteros Parasitoides em Áreas de Arroz Agroecológico Conservative Biological Control: Diversity of Parasitic Hymenoptera in Rice Agroecological Areas

2013
Studies on the natural enemies of insect pests, has been gaining ground in order to reduce the use of insecticides. The maintenance of natural vegetation in taipas irrigated rice can be a practice that ensures the diversity and the presence of natural enemies. The study aimed to evaluate the diversity of parasitoids in irrigated rice areas with mowed taipas (R) and not mowed (NR). We captured 2,059 Hymenoptera parasitoids in NR area and 1,159 individuals in R area. Mymaridae and Platygastridae were the most frequently families in both areas. The variation in the number of insects caught between sampling occasions, may be associated with stages of crop development, climatic factors or flowering weeds of taipas. We conclude that the maintenance of natural vegetation of taipas favors the presence of a larger number of parasitic Hymenoptera.
