Cultivation of pleurotus sajor-caju on cotton and paddy straw based substrate

Cotton and paddy straw were used for production of Pleurotus sajor-caju. The maximum stripe length (2.02 cm) was observed with cotton and paddy straws in combination. Weight of stripe increased due to its cultivation on the mixture of cotton and paddy straws. The mean of stripe weight was 0.79 gm.indicating a mixture of cotton and paddy straw as most suitable for the cultivation of P. sajor-caju.
