Two-Dimensional Nanomaterials in Cancer Theranostics

Abstract In the past decade, two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have been used for cancer theranostics including graphene oxide, graphene quantum dot, graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (g-C3N4), black phosphorus (BP), transition metal dichalcogenides (e.g., MoS2, MnO2, and WS2), and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Due to their remarkable properties such as large surface-to-volume ratio, tunable energy band, photoluminescence, high drug loading efficiency, and excellent biocompatibility, these 2D nanomaterial-based nanoplatforms have shown great potential for cancer theranostics. This chapter summarizes the recent development of 2D nanomaterial-based theranostic platforms for tumor therapy.
