An IOT Based Weather Monitoring System to Prevent and Alert Cauvery Delta District of Tamilnadu, India

2018
The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a vital role in medicine, agriculture and smart city and many more. The Cauvery delta district of Tamilnadu, India has affected in the winter season of every year by highest rainfall and cyclone. Hence there is an urgent need for monitoring the weather and other environmental natural disasters. The objective of this paper is to propose an IoT based weather monitoring system to prevent and alert Cauvery delta district of Tamilnadu. This paper proposes a novel architecture to monitor common environmental conditions. This architecture fundamentally utilized the sensors like the temperature, humidity, pressure, light intensity, rain esteem and so on. There are different sorts of sensors present in the model, utilizing which all the previously mentioned parameters can be estimated. It very well may be utilized to screen the temperature or then again moistness of a specific place. With the assistance of temperature and humidity, we can ascertain other information parameters, for example, the dew point. Notwithstanding the previously mentioned functionalities, we can screen the light force, climatic weight, and precipitation esteem and thickness. These sensors are interfaced with Cauvery delta district and display block using serial port of the computer. The proposed system architecture was implemented in MATLAB SIMULINK 2017b. The modules are properly interfaced with the personal computer and tested successfully with software coding environment. The sensor value is fixed a particular threshold value and if there is any change in the reading it displays the abnormality in the monitor, updates in the ThingSpeak is an IoT platform via the internet.
