Verification of Testability Based on HALT

2010
The highly accelerated life test(HALT) is introduced to verify the testability because of the difficulty and inefficiency to implement the traditional methods for stimulating faults.Using HALT,enough faults can be exposed in a short time by increasing the stresses step-by-step up to well beyond the expected field environment.Since the functional testing is performed throughout the environmental stresses, the testability of a product is verified at the same time. The software for designing and evaluating the verification test for FDR(fault detection rate) was written. The numbers of faults stimulated by HALTs were translated into the required numbers in the software by equal proportion. And then the weighted sum method was used to solve the problem of system FDR integration so as to get the FDR for the whole system. In this paper, the FDRs of a door system and the whole system are verified one by one to demonstrate the validity and practicality of the proposed method.
