In this study, the investigation of ZrO{sup 2+}(HfO)-TBP-HNO{sub 3} solvent extraction system was done to clarify optimum technological conditions: metal concentration in initial solution 36.5 g/L, acid concentration in initial solution [HNO{sub 3}]{sup 0} {approx_equal} 6 M, solvent extraction TBP 2.2 M, the ratio between organic phase and aqueous phase = 1:1, extraction scrubbing solution HNO{sub 3} 4 - 6 M, tripping by HNO{sub 3} 0.1 M; manufactured equipment of mixer-settler extraction system consisting of 6 extraction stages, 1 scrubbing stage and 3 tripping stages; separation and recovering zirconium (> 5 kg ZrO{sub 2}) with nuclear purity ([Hf] < 100 ppm).
