The prevalence of gout in mainland China from 2000 to 2016: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background The prevalence of gout varied in different populations and it appeared to be increasing in the past decades. Gout is a serious health issue and is an independent risk factor for heart failure and metabolic. Therefore, we have used the method of meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the prevalence of gout in mainland China and have provided relevantly informative data for gout prevention and control.
