An introduction to Lv distribution: Definition and performance for time-frequency analysis

2017
This paper briefly reviews a relatively new method for time-frequency (TF) analysis, referring to as the Lv distribution (LVD). By adopting the concept of scaling operator in Keystone-transform, the LVD presents high signal concentration and negligible cross-terms for multi-component linear frequency modulated signals. It performs better than many TF methods such as the Wigner-Ville distribution and fractional Fourier transform. Furthermore, the LVD was extended to several forms including cosine form, short-time form and two-dimensional form, to be employed on various applications.
