EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE ENTOMOLOGICAL SECTION OF THE KOŁO LEŚNIKÓW [FORESTRY CIRCLE] - BY YOUNG PEOPLE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND NATURE!

One of the most effective ways of protecting invertebrates is the education of society. Students of the Entomological Section of the Kolo Leśnikow at Poznan University of Life Sciences have conducted lectures in middle schools and secondary schools for many years. In March 2012, the Section carried out a study on a group of 75 middle school students in order to find the answer to the question of whether educating middle school students in the protection of invertebrates brings any results. An additional aim of the experiment was to determine the level of environmental knowledge and interest among young people. The experiment used a survey. The mean result of correct answers obtained was 6.57 points (± SE = 0.26, 54.72% of the total points available). The main result of this work is establishing the fact that the promotion of various protective actions for invertebrates is being effectively communicated to high school students.
