RECUENTO PLAQUETARIO EN EL PLASMA RICO EN PLAQUETAS (PRP) DE SUJETOS SANOS Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA AGREGACIÓN PLAQUETARIA Platelet Count in Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from Healthy Subjects and its Relationship with Platelet Aggregation

2013
The objective of the study was to determine the platelet count and its relation to aggregation in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from healthy subjects. Materials and methods refer to a population of 32 people from both sexes, between 18 and 50 years old. The aggregation was performed according to Born’s Method, using ADP, collagen and epinephrine as agonists. The average and standard deviation of the peripheral blood platelet count was 276.55 ± 66.43x 109L, in unadjusted PRP (Born) of 416.71 ± 99.46x 109L; the most elevated altered response was 54.84% with epinephrine; for ADP and collagen, results were 38.71% and 16.13%, respectively. A p<0.05 was used. Conclusions were that statistically significant differences (p<0.0001) exist between the appropriate and inappropriate response to each agonist. No statistically significant correlation was found between the number of platelets in the PRP of the subjects studied and each agonist used in platelet aggregation.
