11m L&S Band Ground Station Antenna for Indian Navigation Satellite Signal Monitoring

Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System (IRNSS) along with GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) offers position accuracies of less than 20 meters. This scheme is implemented through 7 no’s of satellites in Geo synchronous orbit having the L5 and S band spectrum and GEO stationary satellites with L1 Spectrum. For carrying out the In-orbit testing of these satellite signals, it is required to have a ground station supporting simultaneous reception of L and S band. ECIL has designed, developed installed a 11m L and S band antenna system consisting of 11m ring focus based reflector antenna with concentric coaxial cavity feed system which offers a compact feed system with optimal efficiencies in dual band.
