Correction for 3D Conduction Effect in the Transient Heat Transfer Measurement

2018
Accurate heat transfer coefficient measurement of gas turbine component is very important for heat transfer design of components exposed to high temperature. Transient heat transfer measurement method with one-dimensional semi-infinite solid model assumption has been widely applied to gas turbine heat transfer studies for the last decades because it dose not require complex boundary conditions. But there are several defect in the technique caused by the 1D heat transfer assumption. In this paper, various analysis were performed to investigate the 3D conduction effect in each technique and introduced better model which can minimize the 3D conduction effect.
