Adsorption of Benzene on Rice Husk-based Activated Carbons with Low Silicon Content

2016
The activated carbon with high specific surface area and high content of mesopore is prepared, with rice husk as raw material,NaOH as activing agent. The effects of such factors as the ratio of phosphate to rice husks, the activating temperature and time, heating rate and different activation process upon the adsorption properties of active carbon for benzene were investigated. The results indicate that the activated carbon obtained at phosphoric acid/carbon ratio of 1:2.5; heating rate of 300℃/h,activation temperature of 500℃,the activating time of 3h exhibits the best adsorption properties of active carbon for benzene which reached 130%.
