Ethics: Ethical Issues in Toxicology

2014
Ethical considerations shape decision making of toxicologist in a variety of ways, including study design, data interpretation, reporting results, drawing conclusions, authorship, assessing policy implications, public engagement, and more. An ethical approach requires an ongoing evaluation of the principles of justice, integrity, veracity, respect for others, sustainability, and an appreciation that everyone has a right to an environment in which they can reach and maintain their full potential. Toxicologists must be thoughtful public health advocates.
